interesting week

It's hard loving your mission all the time! A few days ago I was not having the time of my life and we actually had people to teach. Yesterday everything fell through, literally everything, none of our plans went as planned. But I was in such a good mood it didn't matter!

Heavenly Father knew that I could not handle a bad mood and a bad day so that was a big blessing this week. I am trying to be more positive and just more Christ-like in general. It's hard! Some people are just so so mean and they don't want anything to do with anything even if we're just being nice. Sister Charters is very good at treating others as Christ would. She's always telling everyone how much we love them and hugging everyone and just being an awesome missionary in general. She is the perfect example of a great trainer. Sometimes we drive each other crazy but in the end we're always happy and laughing :)

We get to go and sing hymns every Sunday with this lady in the ward named Sister Nelson. She reminds me of Grandma Nita! I forgot to write about this last week but she gave us this red drink made out of Sorel (I think that's how it's spelled) flowers.

When I was drinking it she asked me what it tasted like. It tasted and smelled just like Christmas

so I said that and she laughed and laughed because it's a Christmas drink here!
I was made for Barbados.

After someone is baptized the missionaries keep teaching them for a year after so they can learn a lot more and really stay active. One of these recent converts is a lady named Sister Walkes and this Sunday was the one year anniversary of her baptism! For our last lesson we had a mini testimony meeting with her and it was so awesome. She was a Jehovah's Witness before and she said she just never had her questions answered there. She knew this gospel was Christ's church again on the earth because she could ask questions and people would answer them! She is preparing to go to the temple in August. She saves all of her change to help pay for it in a little jar with pictures of the temple and the words "I'm going there someday" pasted on the outside. There are always SO MANY pennies on the streets of Barbados so I keep them in my pockets to put in Sister Walkes jar. Sister Charters thinks it's so funny that I am so into collecting all the pennies I see!

I will end with a funny mission moment I had this week. We were walking down a street saying hello to everyone and yelling into houses just being happy sisters. We stopped a guy who was walking home from work and we were talking to him in the road. A car was coming so I stepped behind them so it could get past. The driver of the car was a Rasta man with an iguana on his head! He was driving a car with an iguana on his head!?!? I saw him walking down the street when we were walking back later. I told him he had something in his hair.

Also I used a Bob Marley quote in a lesson. I quoted part of "Could You Be Loved". I was definitely  meant to be here!
