Adventures in the Rain

So it is rainy season in this part of the world. That means every hour or so it POURS down rain and then it is super humid and hot five minutes later. It sounds kind of miserable but it makes for good adventures!
Our area is basically made up of huge hills with houses built on the sides of them.
To get up we have to climb up stairs cut into the hills. When it rains it all turns to mud that adds two inches to the bottom of yours shoes.

not hannah's actual shoes

So on Tuesday we had an appointment literally on the very top if one of these hills. It looked like it might start raining but we're diligent missionaries so our only option was to climb up right? We began our ascent. We were probably half way up when it just started pouring! But we were not about to go back down. We pressed on! It was okay for a while because we were on cement sort of but the final ascent is stairs cut into the hill which equals mud. They don't believe in switchbacks so we were literally climbing straight up. We learned this is impossible to do while it's raining! We were pretty high up so it was really windy too. We basically climbed up on all fours! In skirts trying to keep our scriptures dry! We got to our appointment and basically slid down their mud steps to their house and had our lesson standing in their front doorway dripping wet and covered in mud. We were all laughing so hard though so it was great!
Coming down was another problem. We were taught be a guy (who we had taught fro the first time a few days earlier) that we needed to step on the mud and the rocks and we wouldn't fall as much. He was laughing so hard watching us falling and laughing! Somehow we made it down without any injuries. We were soaked through and covered in mud but we felt super diligent!
