Carnival!

So right before Lent/Ash Wednesday this country goes a little crazy and they call it Carnival.

For those two days the missionaries are not allowed to go outside and teach people. We thought that it would be crazy and loud everywhere since our apartment is in between two main streets and it's loud on a normal day. It was eerily quiet! Everyone was in town having their big party!

I sat on our front step and ate my breakfast like usual and I think I could hear the steel pan from town! :) Or maybe it was my imagination...
We didn't have to sit in our apartment for two days though, we went to the "fun day" they had at the church! We ate a lot of West Indian food and played football (soccer) and cricket for hours! It was great to just hang out with all of the members.

So that was the excitement! Or lack of depending on how you look at it. We had to be in before dark so we watched church movies and told each other funny stories from work and otherwise. Now we get to go back to work! Yay! Such is the life of a West Indies Sister Missionary.
