training is awkward

August 4, 2014

So I'm training Sister Tongi from Hawaii! She is awesome and is very sensitive to the spirit so that's awesome! We had a few GREAT days numbers and lessons wise. It's interesting being on this side of missionary work, where I know (a lot) more then my companion. I have literally no time to think of myself at all! Yesterday in church during Relief Society they talked about sacrifice and they asked us (the Sister Missionaries) to talk about the sacrifice of serving a mission. From the outside looking in I'm sure that it looks like we sacrifice a ton as missionaries but I don't feel like the last 5 months have been much of a sacrifice. I've learned so much about the gospel and I've grown so much as a person in general that I haven't even thought of what I gave up to be here!
Training is interesting. It's awkward in lessons because I am the only one talking and I'll look to her like "bear your testimony about what I just said!" but she never understands what I'm looking at her for. So awkward. Missionary work is an awkward work!
It's fun thought! And fulfilling.

The pictures are of My new greenie and I and me getting a smoothie from a food truck on the beach!

These picture are us in Harrison Cave! I didn't have any good ones of us in the cave :(
