hannah's second (and last) week at the MTC

I still love the MTC (missionary training center). It can be really long and boring at times because we sit all day but I still love it! Everyone said you gain weight at the MTC but I think I've lost weight because I don't really like the food. We have potatoes in our meals for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Some exciting things happened this week! We teach "investigators" (They're teachers or members of the church who act as investigators) everyday. We have one lady named Patty (we call her Patty-Cake sometimes when We're discussing her!) who is awesome! She really has so much faith and really is striving to understand what we're talking about. She always has questions and completes any reading we ask her to do. She has Vibram 5-finger-toe-shoes which is cool!

We have another investigator named Nicole who isn't as open. She mostly just keeps her answers short and simple but I think we're really starting to understand her and what she needs. The gospel is amazing and can really help anyone in their lives!
We had a fire alarm go off at 10 PM when we were all getting ready for bed on Monday. We were all in our pajamas and had to get out of the building and stand outside in the cold! Turns out some Sisters on the third floor burnt some popcorn in the microwave. Way to go sisters.

Before I left mom told me that her friend Danny from Australia said a girl from her ward was going into the MTC the same day I was. Her name was Sister Brown and she was from Australia. That's all I knew. But guess what!!!??? I found her yesterday!!! We were having a meeting with all the people who are leaving this week. (By the way I ship out on Monday. At 2 AM...) They told us to turn around and get to know the person behind us and learn to love them like our Heavenly Father does. I turned around and she introduced herself as Sister Brown from Australia. I asked her where she was from in Australia. I Asked if she knew a Danny who was in her ward and she said yes that she lives right down the street from her! I found Sister Brown! It was meant to be! We were so excited because Danny told her to find me too! We will have to take a picture so I can put it on here! It was one of the most exciting parts of my week here! I found her! In a sea of over 1,000 missionaries!

Have you watched The District shows? You can watch them on BYU TV's website. I watched them all before I entered the MTC. The Elder with the blonde hair from Florida was at that meeting yesterday! I first saw him in an office nearby and told my sisters who were not as excited as I was. He taught us in the meeting though! He's awesome and Mormon famous! I asked if anyone ever recognizes him when he's just out and about. He said that once when he was at a gas station on his way to California that someone recognized him and he was kind of embarrassed because he was in his pajamas. Ha! Watch those shows because I've met him!!!

My companions are great. I literally have nothing in common with them other than we're all going on missions. They're going to Farmington New Mexico. They love Doctor Who. They're awesome though and we've really begun to teach well together.

Well that's all I can think of for now. Next time I write I'll be in Trinidad!
