We did it!

I am happy to announce that after two weeks of fundraising we now have $5,600 going towards building the PDI nursery school as well as another school that needs more latrines. This was so exciting for me! I am building a school in Uganda! It's a dream come true. I was amazed at the outpouring of generosity from everyone I know. So many people donated and shared our page. It was a huge success because of all of you!

On Wednesday this week, Cassie and I went to the hardware store with David Zaale to buy some materials to get the school going. We bought 40 iron sheets and 24 bags of cement. One guy carried every separate bag of cement on his head to the truck. Every single bag. He was very sweaty and covered in cement dust by the end. I was really impressed. We are going to go up this week to help put up the mud walls. I am excited to spend 5 days in Bududa playing with mud and eating good food. 

I wish I could post pictures of everything that's been happening! The internet, and my computer, are both just too slow to take on such a big project! It really is amazing how easily this all came together. I am so thankful that I know so many amazing people at home that support me in anything I put my mind to.
